Senior Counsel EU & Public Affairs to Etraveli

We are now looking for a commercially minded, tech-savvy, Senior Counsel EU & Public Affairs that wants to join our dedicated legal team in Stockholm currently consisting of nine experienced lawyers.

About the Role

You will join an international, innovation-driven company with a culture that encourages learning and development. In this role, you will work with areas such as EU & competition law as well as lobbying activities and participation in various network meetings and forums in Brussels. It is important that you are a people person who finds it easy to navigate different contexts, as you will meet various stakeholders within travel tech. The commercial aspect is important, meaning you should be able to work broadly and connect with different lobbying issues for the company’s development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • being the key representative in peer organisations operating in the travel sector and in the digital sector
  • participating in policy working groups of importance to the travel technology sector
  • interacting with high-level EU policymakers
  • collaborating with technical, legal and policy experts from member associations
  • working closely with the Etraveli management to strategically address challenges in primarily the air transportation sector
  • advising relevant business units on competition law matters or regulatory trends affecting the travel industry

You will report directly to our Chief Legal Officer.

Profile and qualifications

The successful candidate will have a university law degree and 6-8 years of experience working in the field of EU & competition law in a law firm or in-house legal department. It is a plus if you also have experience working with business law, speak additional languages and/or have experience from working in Brussels.

We believe that you are a team player with a curious, open and business oriented mindset, while at the same time having strong legal analytical skills. You are excellent in finding answers and solving problems with a pragmatic approach, giving tangible and to-the-point advise to the organization. Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and in writing is a requirement. Also, a sense of humor would not hurt.
