Essity is now looking for a Compliance Officer for Data Protection & AI Ethics to join the HQ in Stockholm. About the role
As Compliance Officer for Data Protection & AI Ethics, you will belong to the Global Compliance & Ethics team, which is responsible for implementing, developing and monitoring the compliance program, including global responsibility for data protection. Your tasks include:
- Rolling out compliance activities/processes within the compliance program for data protection.
- Monitoring and reporting results of the compliance program for data protection across the organzation, as well as implementing all necessary requirements to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and regulations.
- Driving the Essity governance network for data protection.
- Monitoring the company’s process for handling data breaches of personal data and implementing reporting and corrective actions where necessary.
- Monitoring the global data subject requests process.
- Monitoring the record of processing activities.
- Advising risk owners that high-risk processing activities are identified, analyzed, managed, and documented.
- Providing advice regarding data processing audits.
- Supporting and creating internal compliance communication and tailoring compliance training for data protection.
- Advising on AI systems processing and handling personal data to ensure ethical practices.
- Supporting ethical reviews of AI projects involving personal data to secure alignment with ethical standards.
- Guiding and advising on AI Ethics training.
- Actively engaging with internal stakeholders such as IT, Legal, HR, and Internal Audit.
You will report to the VP Compliance & Ethics, Group Function Legal Affairs, and will be located at the Essity head office in the Waterfront Building, just next to the Stockholm Central Station. Traveling from time to time is included in this role.
About you
We are looking for someone who preferably has a bachelor’s degree in law, whereas a background in economics or related field is also valuable. 5-10 years of working experience in an international enterprise in a compliance-related function is a minimum. You bring a deep understanding of GDPR and other data protection laws with proven experience in the field as well as the ability to build a positive culture around data protection and AI Ethics. You have excellent skills in written and spoken English and a solid knowledge of IT systems.
